Introduction
Welcome to A+ Printer Monitor
A+ Printer Monitor is an easy to use printer surveillance application, designed to monitor and record all activities on local printers or network printers. Perfectly suited for both office and home use, A+ Printer Monitor offers detailed information on who uses the printers, how many documents were printed and what are the costs of printing.
A+ Printer Monitor displays reports in web format or sends them to a specified e-mail address.

System Requirements
In order to properly use A+ Printer Monitor, make sure that your computer meets the following requirements:
- Operation System: Windows 2000/XP/2003
- Internet Explorer: IE 5.0 or later
- 486 CPU or higher
- 32 MB RAM
- 20 MB free disk space, or more depending on the printing activity

Installation
One you have downloaded the product, please run the setup. Make sure you choose “run” on the Microsoft Security Warning. The installation steps are presented below:

Press "Next" to begin the installation.

Read carefully the End User License Agreement. Tick the “I accept the agreement”, otherwise the set up will exit.

Select the destination folder. Make sure you have at least 3.3 MB of free disk space.

Select the folder for the program shortcut, that will be visible from Start menu, in Programs section.

Check the features that you prefer:

Check the summary presented in this window. Press "Back" to make changes or "Install" to proceed copying necessary files.

A+ Printer Monitor has been successfully installed on your computer. Press "Next" to finish the installation and launch IP Anonymizer.
Security
If you activated Windows Security Center for Windows XP with SP2 on your computer, you may receive the following security warnings at downloading the setup or when you want to open the file for installation. Click “Save” at download and “Run” when starting to run the setup. See the images below for more information.



Show/Hide
Each time you want to minimize A+ Printer Monitor main window, press the icon located in the right upper corner, it will minimize the application to system tray (an icon will be shown there).
To show A+ Printer Monitor main window right-click the icon from the tray and press Show.
To exit A+ Printer Monitor, right-click the icon from the tray and press Exit.
The tray icon facilitates the access to start/stop monitoring, to application help, help content and help index. Right-click the icon from the tray and click your choice.
If you like A+ Printer Monitor and want to inform your friends or colleagues about the application use the “Tell a Friend” option, by right-clicking the icon from the tray and choosing “Tell a Friend”.

Functionalities
Status: Shows status of A+ Printer Monitor features: Start and Stop Monitoring and basic reports
Printers: Configures which printers to be monitored
Reports: Shows different reports about printing activity
Settings: Contains the configuration wizards
Register: Informs on the registration and available licensed period

Status
Status section informs the user on the application status, whether it is monitoring or not monitoring all printers’ activity. It also shows the default printers set for that computer and the default user that is monitored. To stop the application monitoring press the Stop button.
The interface has two quick buttons for having instant access to day’s reports:
Default Printer Today Report shows the activity report for the default printer in the current day. In case you get “The default printer is not monitored” check the Printer section and add a printer to the Selected Printers list (the list containing all monitored printers). Report contains: date, time of the printing activity, user name, document name, printer, number of pages and estimated cost.
Default User Today Report shows the activity report for the default user for the current day. Report contains: date, time of the printing activity, user name, document name, printer, number of pages and estimated cost.

All reports are shown in .xml windows. A+ Printer Monitors allows printing all reports. In case a specific information or document needs to be found in the report, one can use the Find Keyword functionality that allows you to search for specific info within the reports.

Printers
A+ Printer Monitor can monitor up to three printers connected to the same computer. All printers are presented in Printer list. To set the ones to be monitored chose one by clicking on it then pressing the Add button. The printer will be shown in the Selected Printers list. To remove one printer from the monitoring list, click that printer from the Selected printers list then press Remove. That printer will no longer be monitored. After making any change, press Apply to validate the changes. The Reset changes button resets modifications to the status existing before pressing the Apply button.


Reports
The reports section allows you to set various customizable reports according to the printer ad the users using those printers.

Time frame
Select form the dropdown list the period for which you want the report. Available time periods: today, yesterday, this month, last month, last three months, last six months, and last year.
Printer Report
Select printer from the dropdown then press Show report. The dropdown list will contain the list previously set in the printers section. The application will show the printer report for the period chosen at the previous step. Report contains: date, time of the printing activity, user name, document name, printer, number of pages and estimated cost.
User report
Select user from the dropdown than press Show report. The dropdown list will contain all users that have used the selected printers. The application will show the user report for the period chosen at the previous step. Report contains: date, time of the printing activity, user name, document name, printer, number of pages and estimated cost.
Aggregated Printer and User report contains aggregated data for the time specified at the top section, containing all printers and all users printing activities.

Settings
This panels facilitates reports management.
Email reporting

A+ Printer Monitor can send to a specified email address the reports generated. Press Configure Email to make the necessary
settings. A new window will open. Insert the email address to which reports should be sent and choose the reports frequency. Sender Information – here you can choose a default address from where reports should be sent to that specified address or let the application use the default email address apm@amplusnet.com. Please insert all required information. Email reporting will have as subject: A+ Printer Monitor: LatestLog.xml and will contain all printing activity for the previous day of the reporting.

Cost management
A+ Printer Monitor helps you assess consumables and paper costs. Select a printer form the list then insert a value corresponding to the printing of one page. Press Apply. Make sure you have set these values for each printer you want to monitor.

Register
A+ Printer Monitor has as trial period of ten days. After expiration A+ Printer Monitor will no longer monitor the printers nor will send any reports. To register your product, please purchase a licensing key. Press the BUY button to complete the purchase. You will receive via email the key and instructions. The new key allows you to monitor printers for a period of 365 days form the moment the key was generated. After receiving the key, copy paste the information and then press Register. Your licensed copy of A+ Printer Monitor is running.
