August 26, 2008 10:34

Few weeks ago, Amplusnet team has launched their first internet parental control software named Application Blocker Pro Pro. This is a well-designed application created for parents in order to control their children access to inappropriate web sites, games, chat room conversations and much more. After the great release, the team thought that creating a new product, a light version of Application Blocker Pro, would be a great success therefore the new application is released and it’s totally free.

This new free parental control - Messenger Blocker - is a software dedicated to every parent concerned about his child online activity. The free blocker will restrict/block access to chat conversations, its main functionality being messenger blocker. This free messenger blocker will not only block chat conversation but also allows you to choose user to block if there are more accounts on the computer. More than that, accessing the free blocker’s interface you are able to view reports related to the web usage, application usage and with the breaking rules attempts.

Both applications provide parental control and will help you put an eye on your children, but is up to you in choosing one. If you want to use Messenger Blocker for free download it from here or you can download Application Blocker Pro the 5 days trial.

Safe media for kids – there is no such thing

August 12, 2008 01:00

Children are the most naive creature on earth and at an early age everything that is in the life of a child influence him. Starting with books, movies, friends and the Internet influence how your child thinks. There were even studies proving that repeated exposure to media violence have bad effects on child’s behavior.

television influence childrenFor example Dr. Ruth Mock (1970), states, “television is the one influence, common to us all today, which replaces the social, religious, and political meetings and festivals which were potent expressions in the past.” As television influence the child, the same happens when comes about the Internet. And more than then that Internet is unlimited and opened source providing any information you need but also is the new dimension to the issue of media violence. Starting with cruel humor sites and continuing to disturbing picture of torture and sadism, children can download aggressive video clips and online games, access violent images, with the simple click of a mouse.

That’s why parents are taking desperate measures when it came about their children’s safety. But any choice you would they take, my opinion is to always consult with specialists. On the other side many parents have chosen to use parental control software for their children’s online protection. To briefly explain, parental control software is sort of “cyber nanny” taking care of your child while he/she browse the web. These applications can block and restrict access to specific websites that might contain improper content and also to block any application (e.g.: games, chat applications) before these take place.

There are many parental control applications on the market and each one has specific functionalities so you can choose the one that better suits for you and your child. There is no price when it comes about your child’s security so get right now a parental control for your child.

Application Blocker – Parental control software developed by Amplusnet

July 15, 2008 10:13

Our developer’s hard work was finally rewarded with the first release of parental control application. The “new arrived” in our team’s hands promises to grow up fast and please you all through its functionalities, design and easy-to-use interface.

Application Blocker is the first parental control software developed by Amplusnet team. The project started after a long research in this domain asking feedback from people and seApplication Blockerarching for the main requirements regarding this type of application. Of course this software was created and dedicated for parents in order to protect their children from online threats and to restrict their access to computer’s configuration.

In this project we all were involved not only with our mind but with our soul because we all know what a family means and which responsibilities parents have to assume for everything to go right. Being a parent is a difficult job that would take all your time, that’s why Application Blocker acts like a nanny taking care of your child while surfing the Internet. The application will block inappropriate content, will block specific web sites or applications, even Task Manager and Control Panel. If you want to restrict access to chat rooms or Instant Messenger this is the easiest tool for doing it. Even if a new chat application version is released, Application Blocker detects her and can be added to the blocking list.

Of course this was only a briefly description of product’s functionalities, for more details I recommend you to download and test our product available here.

Online thieves' behavior

June 30, 2008 10:44

Online thieves are accumulating in the world of the Internet today. With many people online today, and the number guaranteed to grow tomorrow, most people unaware of their safety online opens themselves up to attacks from these online thieves. An Internet bandit, hacker, or thief can easily sneak into your computer’s backend and see what you’ve been surfing through on your Internet connection. That includes things you’ve typed like credit card numbers, your social security number, home address and phone number, websites you’ve visited, and possibly even chat logs. There are ways to protect yourself though, and anyone using the internet should know the basic rules of Internet safety.

Internet thieves will only go after those without the basics of Internet privacy protection down, so even with minor precautions set in place you can get rid of most major threats. Changing your IP address as much as possible is an excellent way to scare of Internet bandits. Several Internet Proxy changing software programs are available on the open market. By changing your IP address, it is literally like changing your beacon signal from where you are using the Internet. Someone watching you might see you playing at your home address, but 10 seconds later your IP will change and you might be surfing the internet from a Japanese IP address.

Cleaning your internet browser history is also an excellent way of deleting easy to find information for thieves. Your browsing history is saved on the internals of your computer which includes cookies (saved passwords and usernames), downloaded files, visited websites, and other logged information. By wiping out this information, it is impossible to get at by hackers. Deleting Temporary Internet Files and folders will get rid of this, and you can find several programs that support this task.

The path you leave behind is accessible to anyone that can view your computer, directly from the likes of your spouse, kids, or colleagues, or externally via hackers and viruses. Wiping these tracks and browsing safely online isn’t a difficult thing to do, so make sure you know how to protect yourself, or get a program that can help you do the job better.

How to choose the best keylogger

June 18, 2008 01:31

A computer keylogger is a program that will track each and every keystroke that is pushed on a computer’s keyboard. Why would anyone want this kind of software on their computer? For business related work, a keylogger can be an excellent way to catch company secrets being leaked out of their office and headquarters via email. At libraries and schools, keyloggers are a purposefully used to keep children safe and on task with what they should be using those computers for. At homes, keyloggers can track who kids are chatting with online and what they are talking about. Couples suspicious of each other cheating on one another have even used keyloggers in some instances.

No matter the case, choosing the best keylogger isn’t a difficult process, but it is one that you should look into a bit before simply purchasing any type of software you see on the shelf. Most keyloggers should advertise that they are hidden from all users except those with access to its control panel, and this is essential if you don’t want your employees or children knowing that you are reading their keylogs. You’ll also want to make sure that it includes software that easily decrypts the keylogs for reading them at later times.

There are many more options that come included in some keylogging programs that others don’t have. Some software may give you an option to have emails sent to a specific email with current chat and keylogs. This is excellent for working moms and dads interested in what they’re children are doing while mom and dad aren’t home. Keyloggers don’t necessarily have to be used for “spying” on chats though. Some are used to pick up and block typed keywords, while others can be used to compare employee’s productivity and speed in typing.

Whatever the case may be that you need a keylogger for, just be prepared to do a little research. Shopping online and reading reviews on favorite keylogging software will be your best bet on getting the perfect keylog programs for your computer.

Positive vs. negative uses of a keylogger

June 2, 2008 20:36

Keylogging application is specially designed software that tracks just what is happening on a computer and its interaction with a keyboard. While generally used for security reasons, keyloggers have been known to be used for improper reasons rather than what they should be used for.

Keyloggers in the workplace and office are very effective time management and efficiency tools. They are also viable for keeping the security and secrets of a company within its own walls. Keyloggers can be used to track an employee’s typing speed. It can count the words per minute being typed by that employee, and whether or not it is up to par or under the average typing speed of others working in that workplace. It can also be used to track exactly what is being typed and what program it is being typed in. If an employee is secretly chatting on instant messaging software or sending emails outside of work walls, an employer will be able to identify this.

However, many employees claim this type of software should be considered a form of privacy invasion. The problem with the software is that it is always tracking keystrokes, whether or not an employee is on the clock. It may also store personal passwords which are easily accessed by those with administrative privileges. On top of this, because it can track whether an employee is typing up to speed with others around him it can cause stress. It has also been a main cause of carpal tunnel syndrome within the workplace.

Keyloggers used outside the workplace are controversial to some. Places like internet cafes have reportedly used invisible keyloggers, saving personal data of clients that come to use their computers, and then using that data for their own benefit.

For those with children, keylogging software can track who they are talking to, and what they are talking about through instant messages. This may be vital in protecting your child against attacks from strangers.

It can be a benefit in some instances, but like anything with benefits, keyloggers come with disadvantages, as well. In the end, it is up to the employer, parent, coffee shop owner, or anyone else who thinks they need it, to decide what they will use keylogging software for.

Why am I in danger while I am online?

May 27, 2008 01:06

Why are you in danger while you are online? You are in danger, because you are more connected to the world on the internet than you will ever be outside of the time you use your computer. There are billions of people online every day, and just like the nice people you see on the street - businessmen, McDonald’s employees, farmers, and runners - you will see heinous people – drug dealers, pickpockets, and thieves – amongst them. Basically, the internet is filled with many different people. Some will help you, some will ignore you, and some will try to take everything they can from you.

No matter how secure you think you are behind your keyboard and monitor, there are always people trying to scam you, phish your information, and use your identification for their own good. Phisers are one type of people that can be extremely dangerous. By using internet tricks, and scamming you into entering personal information, they can gain access to your personal passwords to websites for your banks or credit cards. They do this by directing you to a website that looks like a real website, but it is just copied from the original. If you enter your username, password or any other personal information, they instantly have access to any of that.Protect private information

Even just typing your name into search engines like Google can put your personal identity online. Your computer has an IP address, and if you don’t know how to change that Internet Proxy address, it will always be assigned to your computer. Those clever enough to track these IP addresses can see where you have been, what websites you’ve gone to and on some of those websites, your personal information.

Some of the most dangerous info left online is the information users put on it themselves. Social networking sites are full of people that aren’t there for the right reasons, and they can track who you are just by using the information on your networking pages.

If you are worried about personal information leaking onto the internet, you should be researching what you can do to better prevent your information from being stolen and how you can protect yourself.

How to track Yahoo Messenger conversations

May 19, 2008 11:48

With these days technology, finding out what you child is doing online, which sites he visited, who’s talking with on messenger, it’s no more a difficult option.
Of course, there are people that might say that parents can be more effective in protecting their children by spending time discussing and educating them about the dangers of sharing information online with strangers. I totally agree that family members should talk in detail about privacy and the web. But I also agree that this is a very difficult thing to achieve, and there are plenty of cases when the children forgets about the education he/she received especially when a new colleague comes into their school and that colleague makes him/her feel much appreciated if she changes.

Placing the computer in the living area where you can easily see the screen so you’ll have some idea about activities that children are doing on the computer including the websites they are visiting frequently. This could be another solution, but don’t forget that the main advice for the parents is “stay involved with your children’s internet activity without looking over their shoulder!” they will always find a moment when you are not around to access everything they want. Talking about people under 18, this is the age when you form your opinions about social issues, human rights, and religion, so, don’t let your children be influenced by others.

Chat messenger software

There is also a program out there which is dedicated to the recording of chat conversations. With all the criminal acts being committed online I don’t blame programmers for going out and creating a software application designed for recording chat messages. These tools are very powerful and can track many conversations from Yahoo, MSN, Google, ICQ, and more. The reports from software like this is sent to your email and also daily. The files can be hotkey and password set so that nobody can access it other then you.

These programs will definitely help you become a more involved parent with what your kids do online. Kids have a mind of their own and often times won’t be able to tell the difference online between someone their age or someone much older then them. Parents need to explain the problems kids face online so that this way they are aware of it.
